Joakim Noah wins NBA Citizenship award

Chicago Bulls star Joakim Noah wins the J Walter Kennedy award for his services to the community in Chicago.

Chicago Bulls star Joakim Noah has won the J Walter Kennedy award, which is given out annually to an NBA player for their community service.

Noah was selected by the Pro Basketball Writers Association for his work with youth in the city, with his 'Noah's Arc Foundation' supporting those impacted by violence.

The foundation also encourages youngsters to express themselves through sports and art, with teammates Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson also involved in the project.

"It's great because it brings awareness to what we're doing. But that's it. I know there's a lot of work to do," Noah told reporters.

Last summer, Noah hosted a basketball tournament for young men from various parts of Chicago in a bid to continue his work with the foundation.
