Cleveland Cavaliers seal place in Eastern Conference semi-finals

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeat the Boston Celtics 101-93 to clinch their series 4-0 and seal their place in the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Cleveland Cavaliers booked their place in the Eastern Conference semi-finals as they defeated the Boston Celtics 101-93 to take their series in a 4-0 sweep.

David Blatt's side took control of the game in the first quarter, racing into a 29-19 lead as Timofey Mozgov and Kyrie Irving put the Celtics on the back foot.

The Cavaliers were dealt a blow when Kevin Love sustained a dislocated shoulder during the first quarter as he was caught by the Celtics' Kelly Olynyk.

Despite his absence, the Cavs continued to dominate the court and played solid defense to limit the home side to just 17 points in the second quarter to maintain a comfortable lead.

Brad Stevens's men tried to get back into the game in the third as they limited the visitors to 13 points, while Isaiah Thomas began to make his presence known on the court with a series of scores.

Going into the final quarter, the Cavs held a nine-point lead and they managed to fend off a strong challenge from the home side as LeBron James took the game beyond the reach of the Celtics to seal their semi-final berth.

Cleveland will face either the Chicago Bulls or the Milwaukee Bucks in last four of the Eastern Conference match.
