Stephen Curry: 'I want to become the best point guard in the NBA'

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry sets his sights on ensuring that he becomes the best player in his position next season.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has revealed that he has set his sights on becoming the best point guard in the league.

The Warriors are now under the management of new coach Steve Kerr, with many experts within the game suggesting that Kerr's experience could help to elevate Curry to new heights on the court.

"I'm trying to establish myself as the best point guard in the league," said Curry, according to CBS Sports Radio.

"That quest for a championship is something that I value highly. As an organisation, Golden State hasn't experienced that since the '70s.

"Right now, I feel like we're contending for that and have a solid window to try to get that done. So that's my mission. Personal [accolades] will [only be] a part of that mission."

The new NBA season is due to get underway on October 28.
