Klay Thompson: 'Stephen Curry injury proves Golden State Warriors have depth'

Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson believes that an injury to teammate Stephen Curry shows that the team have depth this season.

Klay Thompson has said that an injury to Stephen Curry has shown that the Golden State Warriors have depth on their roster this season.

The guard had to leave the team's win over the Minnesota Timberwolves with an injury in the third quarter last night.

Thompson, who scored 30 points in yesterday's game, told reporters: "It just shows that we're not all about Steph.

"Steph's one of the best players in the NBA, but sometimes people think we rely on him too much. And it's not fair to him and we're a deep team this year.

"We showed that one of our best guys goes down, we're going to do it collectively and as a team, and play unselfish. It's hard to replace what he does. You really can't do it, but we try to do our best and we did a good job of it [last night]."

Curry sat out the fourth quarter with a sore knee and bruised left foot, but is optimistic of featuring against the San Antonio Spurs tomorrow.
