The Houston Rockets have ceased trade talks involving Omer Asik and will now look to reintegrate their unhappy centre-back into the team.
It is believed that the franchise could not find a trade that matched their valuation ahead of their self-imposed December 19 deadline to move him.
"He's great for our team," guard James Harden told reporters.
"He's one of the best big men in the NBA, defensively as well. He complements our team so well. We're fortunate to have him on our team."
Asik is averaging 18.3 minutes per game but just 4.4 points and 6.8 rebounds, which are significantly lower than last season's numbers.
