Reports within NBA media suggest that the Boston Celtics are in the strongest position to sign Houston Rockets center Omer Asik.
Asik has been unhappy at the Rockets since the signing of Dwight Howard in the summer, with many teams looking to make offers for the player during trade season.
The Celtics had set themselves a previous deadline of today to finalise talks with Asik and it now appears that having consulted a number of teams a deal will go ahead, according to ESPN.
It is thought that Brandon Bass is a possible trade target for the Rockets if they were to decide to swap with Boston.
