Charles Barkley has responded to a jibe from Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey on social media, calling him "one of those idiots who believes in analytics".
Morey took to Twitter to insist that he was pleased to be spared Barkley's "misinformed biased vitriol disguised as entertainment", and the TNT analyst saw it during the show.
"The NBA is about talent. All these guys who run these organisations who talk about analytics, they have one thing in common, they're a bunch of guys who have never played the game, and they never got the girls in high school, and they just want to get in the game," Barkley said live on air.
Barkley applied his logic to the Rockets in particular, insisting that the reason that they have built towards becoming contenders is because of their signings of James Harden and Dwight Howard.
He added that even though statistics perhaps stated otherwise, Houston were still a bad defensive team and that was evident during the game on Tuesday night.
