Report: Donald Sterling refuses to pay fine

Disgraced Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling reportedly refuses to pay his fine for making racist comments.

Donald Sterling has reportedly refused to pay the fine handed to him by the NBA following his lifetime ban from the league.

The Los Angeles Clippers owner was handed the punishment last month after being recorded making racist comments in a conversation with his girlfriend.

According to ESPN, the 80-year-old has informed the NBA that he does not intend to pay the $2.5m (£1.5m) fine, which was due to be paid this week.

Meanwhile, SI.com says that Sterling has informed the league that he intends to sue the NBA, claiming that "no punishment is warranted".
