NBA roundup: Oklahoma City Thunder end Golden State Warriors streak

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Friday evening's games in the NBA.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have ended the Golden State Warriors' eight-game run without a defeat as a big first-half performance set up a win over the Western Conference leaders.

Russell Westbrook finished with his first triple-double of the season, adding a career-high 15 rebounds and 17 assists to his 17 points, while reigning MVP Kevin Durant led the scoring with 36.

The Atlanta Hawks continue to set the pace in the Eastern Conference after thrashing the Toronto Raptors, leaving them with an 11-game winning streak.

Al Horford hit his stride early on as the Hawks opened up a 14-point lead by half time, while Paul Millsap kept the points coming after the break.

Kawhi Leonard returned from a hand ligament injury to lead the San Antonio Spurs to victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

The forward had been sidelined for the last 15 games with the injury, but scored 20 in his first game back as the NBA champions raced away early on against the Blazers.

The Chicago Bulls put in a strong second-half performance to wrap up a comfortable win over the Boston Celtics.

The Bulls were three points down at the interval, but Derrick Rose added 20 of his 29 points after the break to help the visitors open up a big lead.

The Los Angeles Clippers threw away a lead in the fourth quarter as they lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Staples Center.

Kyrie Irving and LeBron James both passed the 30-point mark, while Tristan Thompson scored a career-high 24 as James tied the scores early in the fourth quarter before Irving put Cleveland ahead late on.

The Detroit Pistons needed a last-second tip-in to secure a narrow win over the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Brandon Jennings, who finished with a season-high 37, tied the scores inside the final 30 seconds before Andre Drummond added the winning points at the death.

The Dallas Mavericks put their defeat at the Denver Nuggets earlier this week behind them with a win over the same side on their own court.

Dirk Nowitzki, who was rested on Wednesday evening, returned to score the first 10 points of the game for the hosts, finishing with 25 as Dallas eased to the victory.

The Memphis Grizzlies dominated the second half to beat the Orlando Magic, clinching a third win in a row.

Zach Randolph led the third-quarter run to give Memphis the lead, while Jeff Green scored 12 of his 21 points in the final quarter to keep the visitors in front.

The Brooklyn Nets ended their seven-game losing streak, crushing the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center.

Brook Lopez and Jarrett Jack each scored 26, with the majority of Lopez's coming after the break as the Nets pulled away from the home side in the second half.

The Miami Heat wrapped up their 18th win of the season with victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Last season's beaten NBA finalists were without Dwyane Wade, who has a hamstring injury, but Chris Bosh stepped up in his absence with 30, while Luol Deng had 25.

The Utah Jazz secured their first win in four games as they powered past the Los Angeles Lakers at EnergySolutions Arena.

Nick Young came off the bench to score 23 as he tried to get the Lakers back into the game late on, but he could not match Gordon Hayward's 31.

The Philadelphia 76ers eased to just their third home win over the season, thrashing the New Orleans Pelicans.

Michael Carter-Williams and Nerlens Noel combined for 39 as the Sixers never fell behind to move on to a 8-31 record this campaign.

The Phoenix Suns needed a second-half push to ensure that they took a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves just a couple of days after the Wolves ended their 15-game losing streak.

Goran Dragic and Gerard Green found their shooting form, combining for 40 as the Suns put their defeat in Minnesota behind them.
