Nick Young has reportedly decided to opt out of the second year of his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers to test free agency.
The guard has been averaging 17.3 points per game this season, but is on a salary of $1.1m (£663,000), which is due to rise to $1.2m (£723,500) next season.
The 28-year-old told NBA.com that he deserves to earn "much more than that", and expects to draw a lot of interest from teams elsewhere in the league.
Young joined the Lakers last year following spells with the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers and Washington Wizards.
