Power forward Amar'e Stoudemire signs a one-year deal with the Miami Heat after being allowed to hit the free-agent market by the Dallas Mavericks.

The Miami Heat have completed the signing of power forward Amar'e Stoudemire on a one-year deal.

The 32-year-old started the 2014-15 campaign with the New York Knicks, but was released midway through the campaign before signing with the Dallas Mavericks.

Stoudemire made a limited impact in his time with the Mavericks, and was allowed to hit free agency, but has now penned a one-year contract worth $1.5m (£966,000) to sign with Erik Spoelstra's men.
