Report: Miami Heat delay potential Mario Chalmers trade

A report suggests that the Miami Heat have postponed their attempts to trade guard Mario Chalmers until they see the progress of their younger players in training camp.

The Miami Heat have put off trading guard Mario Chalmers until they see the progress of their younger players ahead of the 2015-16 season, according to a report.

The 29-year-old joined the club in 2008 and has been an integral part of the team in his seven seasons in Miami, including their NBA title wins in the 2012 and 2013 campaigns.

However, Chalmers lost his starting place to Norris Cole last season and was placed on the trade block, but the Heat were unable to shift the guard from their roster.

Erik Spoelstra's men have now made the decision to delay a potential trade of Chalmers until they see the progress of their younger players in training camp, reports the Miami Herald.

Chalmers has averaged 8.8 points per game in his seven years in the NBA.
