Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant has accepted "The Servant" as his new nickname as he continues his bid to win a first league MVP award.
The 25-year-old will return to league action this week after playing his part in the All-Star game, and he has explained the meaning behind his new moniker.
"I like to serve everybody. My teammates. Ushers at the game. The fans. I know it's kinda weird to make your own nickname but I like that one better," he told Grantland.
Durant leads the NBA in scoring with 31.5 points per game as the Thunder lead the Western Conference with a 43-12 record so far this season.
