Raymundo Beltran not interested in fighting Ricky Burns

Raymundo Beltran claims that he is no longer interested in fighting Ricky Burns and will only return to the UK if the money is good.

Lightweight contender Raymundo Beltran has insisted that he is not interested in a rematch with Scotland's WBO champion Ricky Burns.

Burns retained his title against Beltran in September, courtesy of a controversial draw.

It was thought that a rematch could be on the cards for February but the Mexican said that he will not return to Britain unless it is for good money.

"I have been told that if the fight is going to happen it seems like it will take place in the UK," Beltran told World Boxing News. "But I'm not sure if it is going to.

"The only way I will go back there and fight again is if the money is good, otherwise I am not going back to take another chance to be cheated again.

"I am not interested in fighting Ricky Burns any more. I don't even care about that WBO belt and Ricky can keep it. I just want to thank all the fans for their support from the UK."

Burns suffered a broken jaw in the bout against Beltran and despite fears that he would not fight again, the Scot is keen to give the challenger another shot.
