Kell Brook believes that he has what it takes to defeat Amir Khan.

Kell Brook believes that he is ready to fight former WBA and IBF light-welterweight champion Amir Khan.

The 25-year-old, who takes on Matthew Hatton in Sheffield on March 17, hopes that another all-British bout can be arranged with the 2004 Olympic silver medallist later this year.

The WBA and IBF have granted Khan's request for a rematch with Lamont Peterson following December's contentious points loss to the American.

However, Brook is confident that he will beat the Bolton fighter should a fight be agreed.

"I'm ready for that fight this year," Brook told Boxing News. "I could take on Amir Khan any time and I believe I'd beat him. He's just got to say, 'Come on, let's do it,' and it's on.

"Khan has fast hands and power but he can be hurt. He can be stopped. We've seen that before in his career, and timing is everything in boxing. Timing and accuracy beats speed every time.

"When I hit him hard and consistently, Khan is going down. I know I've got his number."

Brook is unbeaten in 26 bouts, and beat Luis Galarza on his American debut in Atlantic City last time out.
