American super-middleweight Brandon Gonzales has vowed to "take out" James DeGale when they meet in an IBF eliminator at Wembley Stadium on May 31.
The victor of the clash will face the winner of Carl Froch's bout with George Groves, and while describing DeGale as a "very good fighter", Gonzales has insisted that he is ready to prove himself on the world stage.
The 29-year-old is quoted by World Boxing News as saying: "DeGale is a very good fighter with a lot of heart. His only loss is a controversial majority decision to George Groves.
"Most people thought that he won that fight so in my eyes, he is going to be coming at me like an undefeated fighter looking to redeem himself.
"I'm ready for the challenge. DeGale stands in my way of becoming a world champion so I must take him out. One thing that I know is that I'm coming to win and to show the world that Brandon Gonzales is the real deal."
Gonzales is unbeaten in 19 encounters, while DeGale has just one defeat from the same number of fights.
