Amir Khan comfortable fighting away from home

Amir Khan admits that he is comfortable fighting anywhere in the world.

Amir Khan has claimed that his fight against Lamont Peterson on Saturday night is causing him no concern.

The Bolton-born fighter, who has fought three of his last four fights in America, will make his debut in Peterson's hometown of Washington. However, he has admitted that it makes little difference whereabouts his fights take place.

"I'm not really concerned about fighting in his backyard," said Khan.

"From my point of view, I get even more respect for going to his hometown to fight.

"For me, a boxing ring is a boxing ring, no matter where it is. I'll perform there the way I have to. If you look at my career I train in America, not the UK, so in a way that helps me to perform well away from my home country."

Following his sixth title defence on Saturday, Khan is likely to step up to welterweight in the New Year.
