Amir Khan has claimed that a bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao will never happen following recent suggestions that a deal was close.
A number of talks between the two parties have ended in frustration over the years, but reports have claimed that the unbeaten Mayweather is ready to take on WBO welterweight champion Pacquiao in Las Vegas later this year.
However, Khan, who is keen to meet either of the fighters in the near future, believes that negotiations will eventually break down.
"Honestly that fight will never happen, in my opinion," the Brit told BT Sport. "I spoke to Manny Pacquiao and, obviously, we speak to Mayweather and his team
"I can't really see that fight from happening, there is too much politics with that fight. There's different promotions teams and different management teams - I don't think they will let that fight happen."
Mayweather and Pacquiao are contracted to show their fights on different networks, which could be a stumbling block in any agreement.
