Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford allegedly has until Monday to decide whether he wants to join AC Milan on loan this month.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford reportedly has until Monday to decide whether he wants to join AC Milan.

The 27-year-old is again expected to be left out of the Man United squad against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, as he prepares to complete a loan move away from the club during the January transfer window.

Milan continue to be heavily linked with the Englishman, with discussions over a switch to San Siro continuing last week, but Barcelona are also believed to be firmly in the hunt for his signature.

Barcelona are thought to be Rashford's 'dream club' this month, although the Catalan outfit will have to move players on over the next couple of weeks to stand a chance of completing a loan deal for the Man United academy product.

According to the Daily Star, Milan have given Rashford until Monday to make a decision over whether he wants to join the Italian club.

The report claims that Rashford has thus far refused to commit himself to a switch to San Siro, as he is waiting to learn whether an official offer arrives from Barcelona.

Milan 'give Rashford until Monday to make decision over future'

Milan president Paolo Scaroni is said to be 'running out of patience' and is prepared to pull the plug unless Rashford makes it clear over the weekend that he wants to move to the Italian giants.

Rashford's wages, which are in excess of £315,000 a week, have complicated an exit this month, and Man United could potentially still have to pay half of his salary if a loan deal is completed.

The forward has not turned out for the 20-time English champions since the Europa League clash with Viktoria Plzen on December 12, while he has not played in the Premier League since December 7.

Rashford was present at Old Trafford on Thursday night for Man United's Premier League clash with Southampton, but he sat in the stands, with the forward still not being considered by head coach Ruben Amorim.

The attacker is being overlooked by Amorim due to poor performances in training and his general demeanour around Carrington, and both parties have seemingly accepted that cutting ties is the best option at this stage of his career.

Are any other clubs in the running for Rashford?

Borussia Dortmund have also held talks with Rashford's representatives, with the German team viewed as contenders to sign the forward on loan for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.

Offers have allegedly arrived from the Saudi Pro League and Turkey's top flight this month, but Rashford made it clear that he wanted to remain in a top European league, with a view to breaking back into the England squad for the 2026 World Cup.

West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are among the Premier League clubs to be linked with the attacker, but it is highly unlikely that Man United will allow him to make the move to a domestic rival.
