Promoter Kalle Sauerland has admitted that he will push for a rematch between Dereck Chisora and Dillian Whyte after their thrilling contest on Saturday night.
In a clash widely regarded as one of the best heavyweight bouts in recent years, Whyte earned a split-decision verdict over Chisora, who many felt deserved at least a draw from the WBC eliminator.
Whyte could move on to fight in another world-ranked clash but Sauerland wants to see the pair lock horns for a second time in 2017.
Sauerland told Sky Sports News: "The crowd were against Dereck at the beginning but at the end everyone was singing his name. Needless to say Dereck made a lot of fans on Saturday night which he has deserved for a long time now. I think everyone wants to see this fight again and a rematch will be huge for both fighters.
"Saturday was one of the greatest heavyweight fights I have witnessed from ringside, both fighters should get a huge amount of credit.
"The fight was close, but after reading everyone's comments and re-watching the fight my initial opinion was confirmed, I feel Dereck deserved the victory or at the very least a draw."
Whyte's British title was also supposed to be on the line until the BBBofC handed a fine and suspended sentence to Chisora for throwing a table during their pre-fight press conference.
