Bermane Stiverne: 'Deontay Wilder will become a forgotten man'

WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne reveals that he intends to make challenger Deontay Wilder a "forgotten man" after their Las Vegas showdown on Saturday night.

Bermane Stiverne has vowed to end Deontay Wilder's career at the highest level when they clash for the WBC heavyweight title on Saturday night.

Stiverne is making the first defence of the title he won by defeating Chris Arreola in May, and despite facing an opponent who has won all of his 32 professional fights inside four rounds, the Haitian believes that he will expose the former Olympic bronze medallist.

The 36-year-old told reporters: "Everyone who has supported me, you won't be disappointed. I've seen plenty of guys like Wilder, even guys who talk more than him.

"This is a real fight and this belt is staying right here in my home town. You're going to get hurt, the worst thing you did was have me take you seriously, and I'm taking you seriously.

"This is going to be a terrific fight. After this fight, you will never ever hear about Deontay Wilder."

The winner of the Las Vegas showdown could potentially face Tyson Fury in the summer, providing that the British fighter can defeat Christian Hammer in London on February 28.
