Frank Warren confirms that unbeaten super-middleweight contender George Groves has left his promotional stable but wishes him well for the future.

Frank Warren has confirmed that Commonwealth super-middleweight champion George Groves has left his promotional stable.

Groves was scheduled to fight for the European title on Warren's show at Wembley Arena on March 16, but the 'Saint' has withdrawn from that bill to focus on a future world-title charge.

A statement on Warren's official website read: "George Groves has withdrawn from the Wembley Arena show promoted by Frank Warren on Saturday, March 16.

"Groves was due to challenge for the vacant European Super-Middleweight title that Mr. Warren won the purse bid for on January 11th. Groves has stated that he is not interested in boxing for the EBU title at this moment and would like to take his choice of fights in another direction.

"Mr Warren would like to wish George all the best with his career and looks forward to working again with him in the near future."

The unbeaten former British champion is expected to confirm a new promotional deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing at a press conference in London tomorrow morning.
