World Boxing Association order a rematch between Amir Kahn and Lamont Peterson following mystery man controversy.

The World Boxing Association have informed Amir Kahn's promoter that they will order a rematch between the the Englishman and Lamont Peterson.

The news is the latest twist following the controversial fight in December, in which Kahn lost his WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles.

Recent images had emerged of an unidentified man apparently speaking to and interfering with officials throughout the fight. The man has since been identified as an IBF official called Mustafa Ameen.

"The mystery man in the black wool hat has a name - his name is Mustafa Ameen," said Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer.

"The IBF have confirmed to us his name and confirmed that he is involved in an official capacity with the IBF. However, he was not in Washington in an official IBF capacity.

"We have been informed today by the WBA that they will order a rematch. We received verbal confirmation today and we will get written confirmation by next Tuesday. I sure hope the IBF will follow, because that is the least they can do."

Kahn unified the WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles with a win over Zab Judah.
