Joe Cordina: 'Shots hurt more without headguards'

Wales boxer Joe Cordina admits that the omission of headguards for this summer's Commonwealth Games has its dangers.

Wales boxer Joe Cordina was undecided when questioned on the omission of headguards for this summer's Commonwealth Games.

Sports Mole has asked a number of boxers about the withdrawal of the protection for the Games, with Cordina the latest to have his say on the rule change.

"Yeah, it is a lot easier, but obviously if you get hit then you feel it a lot more and have to be more careful," he told Sports Mole.

Cordina booked his spot in the second round of the competition on Saturday after beating Team England's Pat McCormack.
