Geoffrey Boycott hits out at "embarrassing" Australia

Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott tears into Australia's "embarrassing" second-innings batting performance.

Australia's batting in the second innings of the third Ashes Test against England has been labelled "embarrassing" by former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott.

The tourists, trailing by 145, reached 168-7 at the end of the day as Steven Finn took 5-45 at Edgbaston.

Boycott told BBC Sport: "It was a wonderful day of cricket for England but embarrassing for Australia. Their batting was as pathetic as it was in the first innings.

"Finn has bowled some really good balls. This might be the making of him. It might move him forward and he gets it all back after two years in the doldrums."

Australia lead by 23 runs ahead of day three.
