Australia have set Sri Lanka a target of 248 runs to win the fifth one-day international in Hobart.

Phillip Hughes hit an unbeaten 138 which included 13 fours as the hosts stormed to a decent lead on home soil.

Matthew Wade opened with 23 before being dismissed for lbw by Nuwan Kulasekara, while David Hussey managed to pick up 34 runs off 39 deliveries before being run out off the bowling of Thisara Perera.

David Warner (10), skipper George Bailey (17) and Glenn Maxwell (9) all contributed to the total, while Moises Henriques finished the innings on nine not out.

Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Clint McKay and Xavier Doherty all failed to appear in the 50 overs.
