Matthew Wade has been included in the Australia one-day international squad for the first time since January ahead of next month's series with South Africa.
The 26-year-old wicketkeeper has been repeatedly overlooked by the Australian selectors recently, but he has been drafted in as a replacement for Brad Haddin, who has been rested.
Australia's first two meetings with the Proteas will be on a fast pitch in Perth, and the hosts will have six pace bowlers to choose from in the series between the two top-ranked teams in ODI cricket.
The first of five ODIs takes place on November 14.
Australia squad: George Bailey, Michael Clarke (captain), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Aaron Finch, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Johnson, Mitch Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Steve Smith, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Shane Watson
