England bowler Stuart Broad cleared of fractured foot

The ECB reveal that Stuart Broad did not suffer a fracture in his right foot after being struck by a yorker from Australia's Mitchell Johnson.

England bowler Stuart Broad has been cleared of a fracture in his right foot, the ECB have revealed.

The 26-year-old was sent to hospital for a x-ray during play on day three of the third Ashes Test match after being struck by a yorker from Mitchell Johnson.

However, despite the positive news, his participation in the fourth Test in Melbourne is still in doubt.

"Scans revealed no evidence of a fracture," the ECB posted on their official Twitter feed. "He will continue to receive treatment on his right foot and will be reviewed on a regular basis ahead of the fourth Test.

"He will bat in this current Test if required."

England are 2-0 down in the series and staring down the barrel of another defeat in Perth.
