Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga allegedly suffers a hamstring injury during his side's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League.

Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga reportedly suffered a hamstring injury during his side's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Camavinga had to be replaced in the 58th minute of the clash at Anfield, with Dani Ceballos entering the field as his replacement, and the France international is now seemingly set for a spell on the sidelines.

According to COPE, the 22-year-old damaged his hamstring against Arne Slot's side, and he will now be assessed before it is determined how long he will spend in the treatment room.

Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed an issue for Camavinga after the match, but the Italian said that Aurelien Tchouameni or Rodrygo could return from injury against Getafe on Sunday afternoon.

"We had this kind of problem last year. We have to hang on for the moment. Today Camavinga went off and for the next game hopefully Tchouameni or Rodrygo can come back. It's a difficult moment, but we have the experience of last year and hopefully it can go well this year," Ancelotti told reporters following his side's two-goal loss in Europe.

Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, David Alaba and Dani Carvajal were also missing against Liverpool, with Real Madrid without the services of a number of important players at a key stage of the campaign.

Kylian Mbappe missed a penalty at Anfield during a difficult night, as goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo secured all three points for Liverpool, with Real Madrid now down in 24th spot in the Champions League table.

"The result was the right one. Liverpool deserved to win because they have good momentum; they are in form, and they are playing with intensity. We held our own in the first half, but we made some poor decisions with our final pass. We competed and fought until the penalty. I'm satisfied that the team competed well," said Ancelotti.

"We have to continue like this, and this is the way forward. We've become competitive again, and we've made sacrifices. There are things to improve, but we're going to improve, and that's it. I have no regrets about the approach. The idea was to defend well and come out from the back with the ball. We had superiority in four or five transitions. The approach was fine.

"Today's game was not decisive because even if we'd won it would have been difficult to reach the top eight. We have to reach the top 24 and finish as high up as possible. We're going to make it to the top 24 and compete like last year."

Did Mbappe pick up an injury against Liverpool?

Mbappe was seen limping after the clash with Liverpool, but there has been no mention of a possible injury problem for the Frenchman, who found it difficult to make his mark at Anfield.

"Often, strikers have moments when they struggle to score, and they're a bit disappointed. Maybe he lacks a bit of confidence, and if you have a moment when things don't work out, sometimes you have to play simple and not overcomplicate things. He's scored a lot of penalties. Sometimes he can miss a penalty," said Ancelotti when quizzed on Mbappe.

"The remedy is to be patient because it's a difficult moment for him after missing the penalty. Everyone has to support him because it will come off soon. He has to work hard and fight because the moment will pass. He's working well and has adapted well. We have to be patient because he's an extraordinary player."

Mbappe has scored nine goals and registered two assists in 18 appearances for Real Madrid, but he has only managed one goal and one assist in five Champions League outings during the 2024-25 campaign.
