England batsman Kevin Pietersen will miss the final two days of the second Ashes Test match because of injury, the England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed.
Pietersen underwent a scan following the third day at Lord's where it was confirmed that he has suffered a strain in his calf.
"Kevin Pietersen will not take to the field for the remainder of the second Investec Ashes Test with a scan today showing he has a left calf strain." the ECB said in a statement.
"Kevin will continue to be monitored and he will be assessed ahead of the third Test commencing Thursday, August 1."
