James Anderson has dismissed claims by Kevin Pietersen that there was a culture of bullying within the England dressing room.

The South African-born batsman, who lost his central contract with the Three Lions during the winter, has alleged that Anderson and his fellow bowlers were at the centre of the bullying and showed a poor attitude towards certain players.

However, the Lancashire cricketer has refuted any claims of bullying and has suggested that the dressing room was harmonious.

He was quoted by Clubcall as saying: "We've got more important things to worry about than someone's book. The issues that have been brought up are sad really.

"The dressing room for the seven or eight years we were winning and successful was fantastic. You don't achieve what we did during that period without all the guys pulling in the same direction.

"I can't get my head round it. He seems like he has not enjoyed it for any of the time he was there, but we all enjoyed it."

Anderson has played 99 Tests for England since making his debut against Zimbabwe in 2003.
