Andy Flower has reportedly stepped down from his role as England coach following a disastrous tour in Australia.

The 45-year-old's future within the England setup has come under scrutiny after the side lost 5-0 to Australia in The Ashes just a matter of months after retaining the urn on home shores in the summer.

According to The Telegraph, Flower was told by ECB managing director Paul Downton that his reign is over during a meeting at Lord's on Thursday following a review of England's tour.

Reports have claimed that an official announcement regarding Flower, who has coached England since 2009, will be made once the team return from their tour Down Under.

After losing The Ashes and their one-day international series, England have also succumbed to defeat in the Twenty20 series after Australia won the second encounter in Melbourne with one game left to play.
