Nasser Hussain has said that he would like to see Jason Gillespie become the next coach of England.
The Australian, who is currently coach of Yorkshire, has been linked with the role following the sacking of Peter Moores on Saturday.
Gillespie led Yorkshire to the County Championship title last season and, having seen several of his county players make the step up to the England side, Hussain believes that the 40-year-old would have the inside track to the job.
"I really like Jason Gillespie, I have to say," the former England captain told Sky Sports News.
"Every time I've played against him or when I've met him or when I've seen Yorkshire play - what Yorkshire have done as a club, their academy structure, it's absolutely phenomenal.
"You just have to look at the England setup to see how many good Yorkshire players are coming through, and I think Jason takes a lot of credit for that - and the way he's handled himself."
Gillespie has been Yorkshire coach since 2011.
