Moeen Ali has suggested that he is not quite ready to fill the void left in the England squad by Graeme Swann's retirement.
Swann's decision to end his career earlier this winter means that England are looking for a spinner to make an impact at Test level but Moeen is not sure whether he can play that role yet.
When asked if he was the man to replace Swann in the longer format of the game, the Worcestershire all-rounder told members of the press: "I think that's going a bit too far.
"He was a top, top bowler and I've got a lot of work to do, but I'm working hard on it and we'll see what happens.
"If England want me to do that, then I'll do it."
Moeen is expected to be involved when England face the West Indies in the first Twenty20 International on Sunday.
