Yorkshire director of cricket Martyn Moxon has revealed that England have not yet made an official approach for head coach Jason Gillespie.
Andrew Strauss confirmed earlier this week that Gillespie, who led Yorkshire to the County Championship title last season, was a candidate to replace Peter Moores, and Moxon admits that the Australian is destined for a job in international cricket.
"At the moment it is purely what Andrew said and nothing more," the Yorkshire chief told BBC Sport. "It is all speculation.
"Jason is a very talented coach, he has got fantastic playing experience, he has a great rapport with the lads and is a great communicator," added Moxon.
"As far as an international coaching career is concerned, it will be when rather than if."
Gillespie, who recently rejected an approach from South Australia, joined Yorkshire in 2011.
