Kevin Pietersen says that he hopes his dispute with England will be "sorted" and that he will return to the squad for their tour of New Zealand in February.

Batsman Kevin Pietersen has suggested that he could make a return to the England squad for their tour of New Zealand in February.

The 32-year-old was left out of England's tour of India, which gets underway in November, after failing to resolve problems with the ECB.

The batsman was initially dropped from the squad after admitting that he had sent 'derogatory' text messages regarding his England teammates to members of the South African squad during their series in the summer.

In an exchange with New Zealand rugby union star Dan Carter on Twitter, Pietersen said that he hoped that the issue would be "sorted & I'm on the NZ tour in Feb".

Pietersen is currently in Sri Lanka commentating on the World Twenty20 tournament, which England are due to begin later today with an opener against Afghanistan.
