David Saker has confirmed that he will leave his role as England bowling coach to take charge of Melbourne Renegades in next season's Big Bash League.

The 48-year-old Australian joined the England setup in 2010, replacing Ottis Gibson.

It is unclear whether Saker will stay until the end of his contract with the England & Wales Cricket Board, which is due to expire after this summer's Ashes series.

"I'm very excited to join the club and come back to Melbourne - which is home - and work with everyone involved," he told the Renegades' official website. "The Big Bash League is being talked about worldwide in cricket circles, and it's great to be back working in the T20 format."

England were recently knocked out in the group stage of the Cricket World Cup after losing four of their six Pool A matches.
