England captain Andrew Strauss has called time on his professional cricket career following a glittering term as England Test captain.
The 35-year-old, who has competed in 100 Test matches for the national side, was expected to resign as England's skipper after the ECB called a press conference, which is due to begin at midday.
While Strauss was widely tipped to end his international career, it has been confirmed that the batsman will not compete in the domestic form of the game.
England's one-day international captain Alastair Cook, who arrived at Lord's this morning, has been promoted to Test skipper.
Strauss is one of only five England players who have made over 100 appearances at Test and ODI level over a 14-year period.
The Middlesex batsman will be widely remembered for leading the national side to back-to-back Ashes victories over Australia.
