Luke Wright has backed the calls for extra drug testing in domestic cricket in England, following the inquest into Tom Maynard's death.
This week's investigation into Maynard's death showed that the Surrey ace had cocaine and ecstasy in his system following a collision with a train in South London.
Wright believes that the England and Wales Cricket Board's commitment to expanding their anti-doping programme is an important step in the English game.
The all-rounder said: "I've never seen a need for it before what came to light but if we can change things now I wouldn't be against it, especially if we could help one person avoid what Tom went through.
"I suppose we have to [confront the issue] with what's happened. I don't think cricket has a problem, I really don't see that, but then people were very surprised about Tom."
The ECB currently carry out 200 drug tests a season.
