The West Indies require 122 more runs with seven wickets in hand to draw the three-Test series with England after a slow-going second session on the third day in Bridgetown.
The hosts wiped out England for just 123 in the morning session to make themselves heavy favourites for the third Test.
England took three wickets in the afternoon session on day three, but their bowlers will need to find another gear if they are to ensure victory in the series.
Chris Jordan was the standout player of the session as he trapped Shai Hope (9) lbw for the opening wicket before taking a smart catch at slip to remove Kraigg Brathwaite (25).
Shortly before tea, Stuart Broad bowled Marlon Samuels (20), leaving Darren Bravo (15) and Shivnarine Chanderpaul (0) at the crease.
