Australia lead the third Test by 76 runs after an India bowling onslaught in the first session on the final day.

Australia have survived a heavy spell of bowling from India to reach lunch on day five of the third Test with a lead of 76 runs.

The tourists currently possess just 170 runs in their second innings, having lost eight wickets in Mohali.

The hosts pummelled Australia, throwing as many as 46 overs at the visitors in the opening session of the final day, but Brad Haddin (23) and Mitchell Star (9) remain at the crease.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has three wickets to his name while Ravindra Jadeja and Pragyan Ojha have taken two each.

Phillip Hughes has top-scored for the tourists with the bat so far, having claimed 69 runs which included 11 fours and a six.
