New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori has been ruled out of the Twenty20 series against England next week due to an Achilles injury.
The 34-year-old will miss both games at The Oval following surgery, while Grant Elliott and Tim Southee have also been excluded from the squad due to injury.
"Dan has been suffering from this injury for the past year and surgery was the only option to prolong his career with the Black Caps," said physiotherapist Paul Close.
The first clash will take place on June 25, with the second and final encounter two days later.
