Lancashire batsman Ashwell Prince has said that he is determined to help the club win promotion back to Division One of the County Championship at the first attempt.
Prince, who played for the county as they were relegated into Division Two in 2012, has signed a two-year deal to feature as an overseas player for the Red Rose this season.
The South African believes that Lancashire's squad is strong enough to win promotion.
"The addition of Simon Katich, as well as the other new recruits, have made the squad stronger," Prince told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"We are where we are and we've got a job to do to get back.
"Players can get complacent if there's no one pushing for their position and I think we've got good competition for places this year."
Lancashire began their County Championship season against Worcestershire at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
