South Africa thrash Pakistan by 117 runs in Sharjah to claim a 4-1 victory in the ODI series between the sides.

South Africa have beaten Pakistan by 117 runs in Sharjah to claim a 4-1 victory in the one-day international series between the sides.

They made 268-7 from their 50 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat, while Pakistan were bowled out for 151 with 15 overs remaining.

AB de Villiers topscored for the Proteas with an unbeaten knock of 115 as Quinton de Kock (34), Faf du Plessis (46) and Ryan McLaren (27) also chipped in with respectable tallies.

Saeed Ajmal did most of the damage with the ball for Pakistan, ending with figures of 3-45. Meanwhile, Junaid Khan took two wickets after Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Hafeez both got in on the act.

Pakistan struggled at the crease when it was their turn to bat as Sohaib Maqsood (53) and Umar Akmal (30) were the only two players to make over 20 runs for their side.

Wayne Parnell finished with three wickets to his name, while Vernon Philander, McLaren and JP Duminy all took two each.
