Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla put on an opening stand of 87 before the latter was dismissed for 46 by Mohammad Hafeez.

Faf du Plessis (10) was the next man to go after he was caught by Saeed Ajmal off the bowling of Mohammad Irfan.

AB de Villiers came in to score a quick-fire 30, before De Kock was finally dismissed having scored 112.

De Kock was removed by Junaid Khan, having helped South Africa past the 200 mark. Some quick scoring by JP Duminy and Ryan McLaren took the Proteas to 266-5 after 50 overs.

Ahmed Shahzad and Hafeez helped Pakistan to make a strong start to their response, sharing a stand of 74 before the former was run out by Duminy for 43.

Hafeez was bowled out by Imran Tahir for 33, before Dale Steyn picked up his first wicket of the innings when he dismissed Sohaib Maqsood for 56.

Misbah-ul-Haq top-scored for Pakistan with a knock of 65 off 76 balls before he was caught by De Villiers off the bowling of Steyn.

Steyn claimed his fifth victim when he bowled Ajmal for a duck, before McLaren sealed victory for South Africa by dismissing Khan for four, leaving Pakistan all out for 238.
