Pakistan turn the screw against New Zealand

Pakistan end day three of the first Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi with a commanding 319-run lead.

Pakistan have powered into a 319-run lead over New Zealand at stumps on day three of the first Test in Abu Dhabi.

Chasing down Pakistan's first-innings total of 566, New Zealand started the day on 15-0 before they were eventually bowled out for 262.

The hosts then finished the day on 15-0, giving them a commanding grip on the contest.

Tom Latham (103), Corey Anderson (48) and BJ Watling (42) all made solid contributions at the crease for the Kiwis, but Ish Sodhi (25) was the only other batsman to get beyond the 20-run mark.

Rahat Ali did most of the damage with the ball for Pakistan as he ended with figures of 4-22, while Zulfiqar Babar took three wickets on a tough day for New Zealand.

Mohammad Hafeez (5*) and Azhar Ali (9*) will start at the crease for Pakistan when play resumes on Wednesday.
