Adelaide Strikers edge out Perth Scorchers in Big Bash League

Adelaide Strikers earn their second consecutive win in the Big Bash League with a dramatic one-wicket victory away to Perth Scorchers.

Adelaide Strikers have made it two consecutive wins in the Big Bash League with a dramatic one-wicket victory at Perth Scorchers.

The hosts hit 146-7 from their 50 overs before Adelaide reached 147-9 with just one ball remaining.

Michael Klinger (49), Michael Carberry (27) and Marcus Harris (26) scored the bulk of the Perth runs at the top of the innings, while none of their teammates managed to get past the 20-run mark.

Kane Richardson ended with figures of 3-31 for the Strikers, who also had Johan Botha, Adam Zampa and Ben Laughlin share three wickets between them.

Modest scores from Tim Ludeman (17), Craig Simmons (12) and Travis Head (12) saw the visitors get off to an unconvincing start when it was their turn at the crease, but 42 from Brad Hodge soon got the board ticking over.

A middle-order collapse looked to have damaged Adelaide's hopes before knocks of 12 and 10 not out from Richardson and Zampa respectively saw them pick up the victory during a nervy final over.

Jason Behrendorff did most of the damage with the ball for Perth, finishing the match with 4-22.
