Melbourne Stars continue their winning streak by beating Adelaide Strikers by eight wickets in their Big Bash League encounter.

Melbourne Stars have maintained their dominance in the Big Bash League by defeating Adelaide Strikers by eight wickets and securing their fifth win in a row.

The Strikers took to the middle first, but their only shining light was Michael Klinger, who secured the highest score of 42, while his teammates crumbled at the crease.

James Faulkner topped the field for the Stars by taking three wickets and conceding just nine runs as the Big Bash leaders suffered just 90 runs in 20 overs.

Luke Wright and Glenn Maxwell, who finished the clash unbeaten, frustrated the Strikers' bowlers by reaching 49 and 25 respectively, while Cameron White fell for 13 and Matthew Wade finished unbeaten for two.

Seventy-five balls remained in the contest.
