South Africa have reached lunch on 99-1 in their first innings on the opening day of the second Test against New Zealand.
The home side stormed to victory in the opening Test and they have started strongly today in Port Elizabeth by losing just one wicket after the morning session.
Graeme Smith has had a steady start at the crease and remains unbeaten on 40, while opening batsman Alviro Petersen racked up 21 runs before getting caught out by Jeetan Patel.
Despite losing Petersen, Hashim Amla has had an assured innings and is currently sitting on 32 runs as New Zealand's bowlers Trent Boult, Neil Wagner and Patel have struggled to find wickets.
