Dale Steyn took a milestone 400th wicket for South Africa in Dhaka this morning, but Bangladesh reached lunch in command on 75-1 on day one of the second Test.
Bangladesh, who won the toss, sent Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes in to open the batting, but they suffered their first wicket inside the fifth over of the day.
Iqbal hit just six runs off 15 balls before he was sent packing by Steyn after his loose shot top-edged to first slip, where Hashim Amla was placed to catch.
The wicket put Steyn in the record books as the second South African to reach 400 wickets behind Shaun Pollock, while also making it the second-fastest in Test matches and the fastest in terms of balls.
Despite reaching the feat, Bangladesh were able to keep control of the field with Kayes and Mominul Haque leading the charge.
By lunch, Kayes was unbeaten on 28 runs, while Haque reached the interval unscathed on 35.
